Low-Calorie Smoothie And Lose Weight Too
64There’s nothing quite like a refreshing smoothie and juice blend, especially during the summer. But if you are trying to lose weight, these icy concoctions may not always be the best choice. Most smoothies from juice bars are many times your morning juice portion and easily add up to hundreds of calories in juice alone. Also, most places add frozen yogurt and syrups to drinks, which up the calorie intake considerably.
If you’re trying to lose weight, make sure you know what ingredients are going into your smoothie on your next stop at the juice bar. Smoothies contain good health nutrients, so don’t avoid them. Your best bet of controlling what goes into them, as well as controlling your weight, is to give this low-cal alternative a try. It’s a tasty way to enjoy a smoothie without the extra calories and fat.

1 tablespoon multivitamin/mineral powder

1 granny smith apple, cut into wedges without removing skins and seeds
1 cup cranberry juice
1 teaspoon liquid aminos
½ cup cold water(distilled)
A handful of ice cubes
Juice grapefruit and apple through a juice machine. In a blender, add grapefruit, apple and cranberry juices, liquid aminos, water and ice. Pulse for a few seconds, then switch to puree setting. When the juice is well distributed and the “liquid tornado” forms, remove lid and add protein powder and multivitamin/mineral powder into the center. Puree until thick and creamy.
